The terms you agree to when using Hobber.
Version 1.6 · Effective date set at publish · Market United Arab Emirates · Issued by Hobber Advertising LLC
Supersedes: version 1.5
This is the version published for United Arab Emirates.
These Terms are published in Arabic and in English. Both versions are available on the Platform before you buy anything. If the two versions differ, the English version governs, except that nothing in this paragraph limits any right you have under Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection and Cabinet Decision No. 66 of 2023 or any other law of United Arab Emirates that cannot be limited by agreement.
These are the Terms, the agreement between you and Hobber for everything you do on the Platform. They are written in plain English on purpose. Words that start with a capital letter have the meaning given in the section "Words with a special meaning in these Terms" at the end.
The Terms are in five parts and a Market Schedule.
| Part | What it covers | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Part A | About these Terms and about Hobber, your account | Everyone |
| Part B | Booking Experiences | Customers |
| Part C | Hub Partners | Hub Partner users |
| Part D | Community and Content rules | Everyone |
| Part E | Legal: liability, changes, complaints, law | Everyone |
| Market Schedule | The details that are specific to United Arab Emirates | Everyone |
Money outcomes are not in this document. Cancellation, rescheduling, what happens if you do not turn up, how to ask for a refund, and how long a refund takes are all in the Refund Policy, which is published under the title Return and Refund Policy. These Terms tell you what a Booking is, what a Voucher is, and what counts as a No-show. The Refund Policy tells you what each of those costs.
1.1 The Platform is operated by Hobber Advertising LLC, a limited liability company registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
| Legal name | Hobber Advertising LLC |
| Commercial licence | Commercial licence CN-3761457, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development |
| Registered address | Madinet Zayed Office Tower, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates |
| Tax registration number | TRN 104317953800003 |
| Telephone | +971 2 886 9080 |
| legal@hobber.ai | |
| Website | hobber.ai |
1.2 In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Hobber Advertising LLC. "You" means the person reading them: a Customer, a Vendor User, a Hub Partner user, or a Visitor.
1.3 Hobber operates in more than one Market. The Hobber company you contract with for a particular Market is named in the Market Schedule published with that Market's version of these Terms. For United Arab Emirates that company is Hobber Advertising LLC.
1.4 legal@hobber.ai and +971 2 886 9080 are our registered business contact details, published because the law requires a business selling online to publish them. They are not the way to get help with a Booking. Help with a Booking is in the app, in the Hobber chat, and section 33 explains how it works.
2.1 The Platform is the Hobber consumer app, the Hobber website, the Vendor Dashboard, the Vendor App, the Partner Dashboard, Hobber AI, and the related services and interfaces we operate. On the Platform, businesses we have approved list Experiences for sale and you book and pay for them.
2.2 Our role, stated in full:
2.3 We are not a neutral notice board and we do not describe ourselves as one. We are also not the owner of the Experience: the Vendor is the seller and supplier of the Experience itself.
2A.1 You have one Hobber account and one agreement with us. These Terms and the Privacy Policy apply to everything you do on the Platform, in every Market, from the moment you accept them.
2A.2 Your Home Market is the Market you selected when you created your account. It is recorded through the version of these Terms you accepted at registration. Your Home Market Schedule governs account matters: who may hold an account, conduct, Content, your data rights, disputes about the Platform itself, and which Hobber company holds your account.
2A.3 For each Booking, the Booking Market is the Market where the Experience takes place. The Booking Market Schedule and the Booking Market's version of the Refund Policy govern the price, the currency, the Taxes, the Cancellation Window and any fees, the refund rules, and which Hobber company acts as the Vendor's payment collection agent and issues the tax invoice for that Booking.
2A.4 Before you pay, the checkout screen shows you the Refund Policy that applies to that Booking. We record the version you were shown against the Booking.
2A.5 Browsing or booking in another Market never requires you to accept these Terms or the Privacy Policy again. The text of these Terms is the same in every Market. Only the Market Schedule differs, and the header of each version tells you which Market it was published for.
2A.6 A Vendor holds one agreement with Hobber per Market in which it operates.
3.1 These Terms apply to:
3.2 These other documents are part of our relationship with you:
| Document | What it does |
|---|---|
| Privacy Policy | Explains what we do with your personal information. It is incorporated into these Terms by reference. |
| Refund Policy | Governs cancellation, rescheduling, what happens when you do not turn up, refund requests, and refund timing. Where it differs from these Terms on those subjects, the Refund Policy prevails. |
| Cookie Policy | Covers cookies and similar technologies on our web surfaces. |
| Vendor Terms | The agreement for Vendors and Hub Partners. It does not apply to Customers. |
| AI Consent | A separate notice you accept on its own before you use Hobber AI. It is never bundled into these Terms and accepting these Terms is never taken as consent to it. |
3.3 A Listing's Fine Print may add conditions to an Experience. It may never reduce your rights under these Terms or the Refund Policy, and where it tries to, it does not apply.
3.4 These Terms are published in Arabic and in English, and so are the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, the Cookie Policy, and the AI Consent. The English version governs. Nothing in that sentence limits any right you have under Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection and Cabinet Decision No. 66 of 2023 or any other law of United Arab Emirates that cannot be limited by agreement.
4.1 You accept these Terms when you do any of the following:
4.2 Using the Platform without signing in also means you accept Parts A, D and E.
4.3 Each time you accept, we make a Consent Record. It holds the exact version of the document you were shown, the date and time, the action you took, and technical details of the session such as the device and the network address it came from. When you pay, we freeze the versions of these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy that were in force for that Booking Market at that moment, and we attach them to the Booking. Those frozen versions are the ones that govern that Booking for its whole life, even if we publish a new version later.
4.4 You can read the version of any of these documents that is in force for your Market at any time, in the app under About Hobber and on our website.
5.1 You must be at least 18 years old to hold a Hobber account and to make a Booking. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18, that you have full legal capacity to enter into a contract, and that the information you give us is true. You can browse the Platform without an account at any age. If we learn that an account holder, or the person who made a Booking, is under 18, we may close the account and cancel and refund the Bookings.
5.2 If that confirmation turns out to be untrue, we may suspend or close your account and cancel Bookings that have not yet happened. Where we do that, the money outcome is the one set out in the Refund Policy.
5.3 One person holds one account. You may not create an account for somebody else, share your account, or use somebody else's.
5.4 A business account is opened and operated by a person authorised to act for that business. That person confirms they hold that authority.
5.5 Minors. People under 18 may take part in an Experience only where the Listing allows it and only when an adult who is at least 18 holds the Booking. That adult is the booking adult and is the contracting party for every person in the party. The booking adult confirms that they are the parent or legal guardian of each minor in the party, or are authorised by the parent or legal guardian, provides each minor's age and any health, accessibility, or supervision information the Vendor asks for, and accepts the Vendor's conditions of participation on the minor's behalf.
5.6 Nothing in section 5.5 is a waiver of anybody's rights. It is a statement of who is responsible for what. Your right to compensation under Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection and Cabinet Decision No. 66 of 2023 is not affected by it and cannot be given up.
5.7 Hobber AI is not for minors, and we do not direct marketing at minors or build profiles of them. See the Privacy Policy, section Children.
5.8 We do not check anybody's age at checkout, and the Platform does not hold your date of birth. Where an Experience is priced by age band, you are responsible for buying the right band for each person, and the Vendor may check ages at the door. Section 16 explains what happens if a condition of participation is not met.
6.1 You can create an account with an email address and a password, or by signing in with Google or with Apple. Where you use Google or Apple, that provider tells us your provider account identifier, your email address and whether it is verified, and, where you have them, your name, telephone number, and profile picture.
6.2 We verify your email address and your telephone number by sending you a code. Some features, including Hobber AI, need a verified telephone number.
6.3 Keep your credentials secret. You are responsible for what is done through your account unless you tell us promptly that it is being used without your permission. Tell us as soon as you suspect that, using the in-app chat described in section 33.
6.4 We remember the devices you sign in from so that we can recognise you and protect the account. See the Privacy Policy, section What we collect.
6.5 We may suspend or close your account, or restrict a feature, where you break these Terms, where we are required to by law or by an order from an authority, or where we reasonably believe the account is being used for fraud or to harm another person. Section 24 sets out how we do that, what we tell you, and how you can ask us to look again.
6.6 You may close your account at any time from the app. Closing it starts a deletion process with a grace period of 30 days during which you can change your mind, and signing in again during that period cancels the deletion. Some records survive deletion because we are required to keep them or because they belong to somebody else's record, including invoices and tax records, Reviews you published, and messages in a conversation with a Vendor. See the Privacy Policy, section How long we keep it.
6.7 Closing your account does not by itself cancel a Booking that has already been made, and does not change what you are owed or what you owe. See the Refund Policy.
Part B is for Customers.
7.1 An Experience is a service, activity, class, tour, event, stay, or venue offering that a Vendor lists for sale. In the Platform an Experience is shown as a "hob". A Listing is the page for an Experience. It carries the description, the photographs and any video, the price, what is included and what is not, availability, the Booking Requirements, the Cancellation Window and reschedule rules, and the Fine Print.
7.2 A Listing is written by the Vendor. The Vendor is responsible for its accuracy. We moderate Listings, we apply content standards, and we scan them for contact details and for attempts to take the transaction off the Platform, but we do not independently verify every claim a Vendor makes about its own Experience.
7.3 A Listing is an invitation to make a Booking. It is not an offer that you accept. Your Order is the offer. Section 8 explains when a Booking is actually formed.
7.4 What is included and what is not included, the Fine Print, and, for a Tour, the advertised route and stops, are frozen onto your Booking when you pay. If the Vendor changes the Listing later, your Booking keeps what you were shown and bought.
7.5 A Listing must state the conditions of participation that apply, including any minimum or maximum age, height, weight, fitness, health, pregnancy, documentation, footwear, and supervision requirements, and the risks of the activity. Read them before you book. Section 16 explains how they work.
7.6 A Booking Type, a category of Vendor, or a whole Market may be closed for new Bookings. Where that is so, you can still see the Listing but checkout is refused. Bookings already made continue to be serviced normally.
8.1 How a Booking is formed. You choose an Experience, an option, a date and time or a validity period, the number of people, and any add-ons. You pay. Then one of two things happens.
8.2 The Confirmation Window is 24 hours from the Booking, or the start of the Slot if that is sooner. A request for a slot three hours away therefore expires when that slot starts.
8.3 While you are waiting, your money has not moved. The app shows you a countdown to the release. If the Vendor does not confirm in time, or declines, the Booking does not proceed, the authorisation on your card is released, and nothing is charged. A released authorisation is not a refund and you will not see a refund line on your statement. It can take several days for your bank to remove the hold, and that timing is the bank's, not ours.
8.4 Holds. For an Event you hold your spots for 10 minutes while you pay. For a Hotel Stay you hold your rooms for 15 minutes. A hold is inventory only. No money is taken for it, it cannot be extended by selecting again (selecting again releases the first hold and starts a new one), and when it lapses the spots or rooms go back on sale to everybody.
8.5 Availability is checked before your card is charged. If a slot, a seat, or a room is taken while you are paying, we refuse the Booking before any money moves and tell you what changed. Nothing is charged.
8.6 Automated processing. Parts of this are automatic: availability and holds, seat allocation, confirmation and the issue of your confirmation code, status changes such as expiry of a Confirmation Window, fraud and payment checks run by us and by our payment provider, and the automatic marking of a Booking as a No-show after the Experience has ended. Where an automated decision affects you, you may ask us for a person to review it. Ask through the in-app chat described in section 33. Refund decisions are made by a person, not by software, and Hobber AI never makes them.
8.7 What the confirmation contains. Your confirmation code, your Voucher and its QR code, the Redemption Window, the Vendor's name and the address of the Experience, what is included and what is not, the Fine Print, any Booking Requirements still to be answered, and a downloadable booking confirmation document.
8.8 An Order must be for more than zero. A promotion cannot reduce an Order to nothing, and an Order must be at least the minimum shown at checkout.
8.9 If your payment is refused, the Booking is not made and no stock is held for you. We do not retry a refused payment and we do not chase you for it. You can simply try again.
8.10 Limits on Orders. Two limits apply to every Order, to keep payments safe. One Order cannot cost more than the Maximum Order, counted for the whole Order even when it is split through Pay Together, and you can pay for no more than the number of Orders allowed in any 24 hours. An Order you pay into through Pay Together counts as one of your Orders. Both limits are set for each Booking Market, and the values for United Arab Emirates are in the Market Schedule. If an Order would go over either limit, checkout tells you before you pay, and nothing is charged.
9.1 The price you see is the price you pay. Prices are shown in the currency of the Booking Market, which for United Arab Emirates is AED. The displayed price includes value added tax at 5 percent, which is the Vendor's tax and is included in the price where the Vendor is registered for it, and includes every mandatory fee and every government fee that applies to the Experience. Optional add-ons are shown separately and are never pre-selected.
9.2 We add no fee of our own. Hobber adds no service fee, platform fee, booking fee, convenience fee, and no processing fee to the Listing price. The only amounts that can be added to a Booking after it is made are a reschedule fee, a cancellation fee, or a paid change you ask for such as a tour pickup upgrade. Those are the Vendor's fees, they are set out in the Refund Policy and on the Listing, and they are shown to you before you commit to the change. Hobber's one charge of its own is never added to a price: when a Walk-in Voucher expires unused, Hobber keeps a processing fee out of the refund, as the Refund Policy sets out in its section Rules per Booking Type.
9.3 No surcharge, ever. We do not add anything for paying by card or by any other payment method.
9.4 Currency. The Booking Market's currency is the one in which the price is set and accounted for. Where the Platform lets you choose to be charged in another currency, the rate used is the rate quoted to you on the checkout screen. That rate is taken from an independent published exchange rate that we refresh regularly, and it is fixed for you when the checkout screen quotes it. It may include a conversion margin, and where it does the margin is shown to you before you pay. Your own bank may apply its own charges, and those are between you and your bank.
9.5 Payment methods. We accept payment cards, cards you have saved to your account, and Apple Pay. A saved card always asks for its security code again. Every card payment goes through 3D Secure with your bank. We never see or store your full card number: your card details are encrypted in your device by our payment provider before they reach us.
9.6 Authorisation and charge. For an instant Booking we take the payment when you pay. For a Confirmation-Required Experience and for any Pay Together Order, we authorise your card and take the payment later, as described in sections 8 and 10.
9.7 Your tax invoice. We issue the invoice for the Experience on the Vendor's behalf, as its disclosed agent, and the Vendor is shown on it as the seller. Where the Vendor is registered for value added tax the document is a tax invoice; where it is not, it is an invoice with no tax line. Today we issue this in the simplified form. It is not evidence that a business buyer can use to recover input tax, and we cannot currently issue a full tax invoice addressed to a business. If you need one, tell us through the in-app chat before you book and we will tell you whether we can help.
9.8 A refund produces a credit note that mirrors the original invoice, in proportion to the amount refunded. Where a fee is kept, a separate invoice is issued for that fee. See the Refund Policy, section How refunds are paid.
10.1 Pay Together lets you split the cost of one Order among several Customers. The Party is the group. You, as the person who starts it, are the Party Leader.
10.2 A Party may have up to 10 people. You invite each person from the app. The same person can be invited to the same Party at most three times, so nobody can be asked over and over.
10.3 The Party has 60 minutes from the moment the Order is created to finish paying. Everybody's share is authorised on their card and nobody is charged until the Party completes. We remind the Party before the deadline.
10.4 When the Party completes, the payments are taken, the Booking is formed (or, for a Confirmation-Required Experience, it goes to the Vendor for confirmation) and the Voucher is issued. An overpayment of a few fils still counts as complete and the excess is handled separately.
10.5 If the Party does not complete in time, no money moves. The Order does not become a Booking, every authorisation is released, and the stock goes back on sale. There is no refund to look for, because nothing was charged. Released authorisations can take several days to disappear from a statement.
10.6 The Booking belongs to the Party Leader. Only the Party Leader may cancel it, reschedule it, or change a tour pickup. Any member of the Party may look at the Booking and see whether those actions are available.
10.7 Every member of the Party who was on the Booking may leave a Review after the Voucher has been redeemed. See section 20.
11.1 A Voucher is the confirmation and QR code we issue for a Booking. The confirmation code is nine digits shown in the form XXX-XXX-XXX. It is an identifier, not a password. Redemption is authorised on our servers, against the Vendor's own signed-in operator and the state of your Booking. Somebody who copies your code cannot use it.
11.2 Redemption is the Vendor accepting your Voucher at the Experience and recording it on the Platform. The Vendor scans the QR code, or types the code.
11.3 One scan uses the whole Booking. For a multi-day, multi-night, or multi-occurrence Booking, a single scan by the Vendor marks the entire Booking as used. There is no per day, per night, or per occurrence redemption. A three night stay is scanned once, at the front desk, and that covers every night.
11.4 The Redemption Window is the period shown on your Voucher during which the Voucher is meant to be presented. Section 12 gives the window for each Booking Type.
11.5 Whether to accept a Voucher presented outside its Redemption Window is the Vendor's decision. We do not guarantee that you will be admitted outside the window shown on your Voucher, and we do not promise that a Voucher presented outside it will be refused. Arrive within the window.
11.6 Vouchers are personal. A Voucher is issued to you and, where you used Pay Together, to your Party. You may not sell it, transfer it, or give it to somebody else. The Platform has no transfer mechanism, and the only way another person is attached to a Booking is as a member of your Party.
11.7 The Vendor may ask to see identification at the door, and may ask for the answers to the Booking Requirements. The Vendor may refuse entry where a condition of participation is not met or where it reasonably believes that admitting somebody would be unsafe. See section 16.
11.8 A No-show is a Booking whose Voucher is not redeemed within its Redemption Window. We mark it automatically, after the Experience has ended, and not before. For a multi-day or multi-night Booking that means after the last day or night has ended, so a stay is never marked before you have left. A late but genuine scan always wins: if the Vendor scans you, the Booking reads as redeemed.
11.9 A No-show is a factual event. What it costs you, and whether anything is returned, is in the Refund Policy, section If you do not show up.
11.10 A Walk-in Voucher expires. Its validity is 14 days from purchase, and the expiry date is printed on the Voucher. A Walk-in Voucher is a right to receive a specific Vendor service, with a fixed expiry. It is not money, it is not a balance, and it has no cash value. What happens to the amount you paid if you do not use it in time is in the Refund Policy, section Rules per Booking Type.
12.1 There are six: Time Slot, Walk-in, Day, Event, Hotel Stay, Tour. Each Listing states which one it uses, and it cannot be changed after the Listing is created.
13.1 Whether you can cancel or reschedule, by when, what it costs, and what comes back to you are all set out in the Refund Policy, sections Cancellation by you and Rescheduling. The Listing shows you the Vendor's own window and any fee before you pay, and those are the ones that apply to your Booking even if the Vendor changes the Listing afterwards.
13.2 Only the person who made the Booking may cancel it or reschedule it. Where you used Pay Together, that is the Party Leader.
13.3 Cancellation is all or nothing. You cannot drop one person, one night, one seat, or one day from a Booking yourself. If you need a change like that, talk to us through the in-app chat and we will see what we can do with the Vendor.
13.4 A reschedule may change which Slots you hold. It may never change how many. A Hotel Stay may move dates only.
13.5 A reschedule does not re-price your Booking. We do not charge you a difference if the new date is more expensive, and we do not refund you a difference if it is cheaper. The only money that moves on a reschedule is the reschedule fee, which is set out in the Refund Policy, section Rescheduling.
13.6 Where the Listing says the Vendor approves reschedules, your new time is held and the fee is only authorised until the Vendor approves. If the Vendor declines, the new time is released, the fee authorisation is cancelled, and your original Booking stands unchanged. If the Vendor does not answer, the request lapses after about 24 hours and the same thing happens.
13.7 There is no limit on how many times a Booking may be rescheduled, as long as the reschedule window is still open each time.
13.8 A Vendor cannot move your confirmed Booking on the Platform. A Vendor that cannot go ahead may cancel your Booking before it starts, and when it does you are refunded in full, with no Cancellation Fee, and we tell you. If a Vendor tells you it cannot honour your Booking and has not cancelled it, or something goes wrong once your Booking has started, contact us through the in-app chat and we will deal with it under the Refund Policy, section If the Vendor cancels or cannot deliver.
14.1 If something goes wrong, tell us through the in-app chat, and tell us as soon as you can. The sooner we hear, the more we can do, and some remedies depend on us being able to reach the Vendor while the Experience is still happening.
14.2 Where the Experience can still be delivered, we will offer you an alternative or a new time first. You are never obliged to take it. If you refuse it, or if it fails, the question becomes a refund.
14.3 Where an Experience is not provided, or is not provided as described, you choose among a full refund of what you paid, a partial refund reflecting the part you did use, and having the Experience provided again properly. That choice is yours, not ours and not the Vendor's.
14.4 We decide refunds, not the Vendor. A Vendor cannot veto a refund we have decided to give you. We pay you and we settle the position with the Vendor afterwards.
14.5 How to ask, by when, what to send us, how we decide, and how long it takes are in the Refund Policy, sections Asking Hobber for a refund and How refunds are paid. There is a short window after the Experience for raising a problem about an Experience that already happened, and it is stated there.
14.6 You may send us photographs and a description with a refund request. We store them privately and we use them to decide your request and, if it becomes necessary, to defend a payment dispute.
14.7 If you ask your bank to reverse a payment instead of coming to us, we cannot process a refund for that Booking while the bank's dispute is open. Please talk to us first. See the Refund Policy, section Chargebacks.
15.1 We and Vendors may offer discounts, promotional prices, and codes. A Listing or a campaign will say what the offer is, who it is for, and when it ends. We run discounts and promotions in line with any permission the law of the Market requires us to obtain first.
15.2 Only one discount or code applies to an Order, unless a code is expressly marked as stackable with the discount already applied. Where two could apply and only one may, we apply the one that is better for you.
15.3 A code may be single use, limited to one per person, limited to a particular Experience or Market, or capped by a budget. When a budget runs out, the code stops working. When that happens at checkout, we tell you before anything is charged.
15.4 A code is not restored if the Booking is cancelled or refunded. If you use a single use code and then cancel, the code is spent. We say this plainly because it surprises people.
15.5 A refund returns what you actually paid, not the list price. If you paid a discounted price, the discount is taken into account in proportion when we refund you.
15.6 A discount has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
15.7 We may withdraw an offer, refuse a code, or reverse the benefit of one where it is being abused, for example through multiple accounts, automated ordering, or resale. Section 24 applies.
15.8 There is no welcome benefit, no loyalty balance, no wallet, and no store credit on the Platform. We do not hold money for you.
15.9 Where we decide to make a discretionary gesture after something has gone wrong, it takes one of two forms: money returned to the payment method you used, or a single-use discount code issued to you with an expiry date shown on it (90 days, and never more than 365 days), which comes off the total of a later Booking. It is never a stored balance and it cannot be exchanged for cash. See the Refund Policy, section Asking Hobber for a refund.
16.1 A Vendor may set conditions of participation for its Experience. These commonly include a minimum or maximum age, height, weight, fitness or health requirements, pregnancy restrictions, required documentation, required clothing or footwear, a maximum group size, and supervision requirements for minors. They are shown on the Listing before you book.
16.2 These are conditions of participation and an acknowledgement of the risks of the activity. They are not a waiver of anything. Nothing in this section, in a Listing, in Fine Print, or in any form a Vendor asks you to sign on the day removes or limits your right to compensation under Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection and Cabinet Decision No. 66 of 2023 or any other right you have under the law of United Arab Emirates that cannot be given up by agreement. A term that tries to do that does not apply.
16.3 You are responsible for:
16.4 The Vendor may refuse participation where a condition of participation is not met, where a required document is not produced, or where it reasonably believes participation would be unsafe or would put others at risk. That is the Vendor's decision on the day. Where participation is refused, what happens to your money is in the Refund Policy.
16.5 Booking Requirements. A Vendor may ask you for information or documents before or at the Experience: a text answer, a number, a date, a choice from a list, a document, or a photograph. A requirement may be for the whole Booking or for each person in it.
16.6 Documents and photographs are never asked for at the payment screen. They are asked for after payment, on your Booking screen, and we tell you before you pay that they will be asked for. A Booking is valid whether or not those answers have been given, but the Vendor may refuse participation if they are missing on the day. Where a document is marked as needing the original, bring the original as well.
16.7 What the Vendor can see, and for how long, is limited. Identity documents and identity answers become visible to the Vendor shortly before the Experience starts, close to the Vendor at Redemption or at the end of the Experience, and are deleted within a short, fixed period after that. We do not verify identity documents on your behalf and we do not confirm to a Vendor that a document is genuine. See the Privacy Policy, section Who we share it with.
16.8 We do not keep your answers for reuse on a later Booking. Each Booking asks for what it needs afresh.
16.9 Ages and pricing bands. Where a Vendor prices by age, a child band runs up to an age the Vendor chooses, which can be no later than 12. An optional teenager band starts the year after the child band ends and can run no later than 17. From 18, everybody is an adult. Children below the start of the child band need no ticket. A Hotel Stay uses its own occupancy rules, under which an infant, by default a child aged 2 or under, is not counted in occupancy and is not charged. We do not check ages and no part of the Platform matches a person's real age to the band you bought.
Accessible price. In a Market whose Market Schedule offers an accessible price, a Vendor may set one on an option for a person with a disability. It is shown under the name the Market Schedule gives it, with the Vendor's other prices, and you can choose it when you book. It is for a person who holds the identification the Market Schedule names for it or, in a Market that names none, proof of eligibility that the Vendor accepts. Everyone booked at that price must show it to the Vendor at the Experience and, where it is not produced, the Vendor may refuse participation at that price as section 16.4 describes. Where the Market Schedule says that Hobber may keep a copy, you may save yours on your profile in the forms it lists and choose, when you book, to show it to the Vendor of that Booking; the Privacy Policy explains how we keep it. Saving it is optional and never replaces showing it in person. We do not check eligibility. A companion pays the Vendor's other prices unless the Listing says otherwise.
16.10 We recommend that you hold travel or activity insurance appropriate to what you have booked. Hobber does not sell insurance and does not arrange it.
17.1 We are responsible for running the Platform, for taking and protecting your payment, for issuing your invoice, for supporting you, and for deciding refunds under the Refund Policy.
17.2 We are responsible to you for the Experience being delivered as described in its Listing. If it is not, your remedies are in the Refund Policy, and we will not make you pursue the Vendor first.
17.3 The Vendor is responsible for actually delivering the Experience, for the safety of the activity and its premises, for holding every licence, permit, and insurance it needs, and for its own staff. Where a Vendor causes you loss beyond the price of the Booking, you keep every right you have against that Vendor under the law, and you also keep every right you have against us under the law.
17.4 Section 28 sets out the limits of our liability. Nothing in this document takes away a right you have under Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection and Cabinet Decision No. 66 of 2023 or any other law of United Arab Emirates that cannot be given up.
18.1 A Hub Partner is a venue or community operator, such as a mall, a park, an island, a theme park, a festival, or a neighbourhood, that holds a partner account with Hobber and whose venue hosts Vendors' Experiences.
18.2 The rules that govern a Hub Partner are in the Vendor Terms, Part H, If you are a Hub Partner. That is the document a Hub Partner accepts when it registers, and it covers what a Hub Partner may do, what it is given and what it is not given, the content it publishes, and how a venue is shown on the Platform.
18.3 A person who uses the Partner Dashboard is a User of the Platform and is bound by these Terms in that capacity, in the same way as anybody else.
18.4 A Hub Partner does not sell on the Platform. A venue operator that wants to sell Experiences must register separately as a Vendor.
Part D is for everybody who puts anything on the Platform: Customers, Vendor Users, Hub Partner users, and Visitors.
19.1 Content is anything you submit to the Platform: text, photographs, video, a Review, a message, a Listing, a profile picture, or anything else.
19.2 You keep ownership of your Content. You do not transfer it to us.
19.3 The licence you give us. By submitting Content, you give Hobber a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for format and size, translate, publish, display, distribute, and promote that Content, in connection with operating and promoting the Platform and the Experiences on it. That includes showing it on a Listing, on a Hub's page, in a category, campaign, or editorial page on the Platform, on our website, and in our own marketing on and off the Platform. The licence lasts for as long as we keep the Content, and it survives the closure of your account for Content that has already been published, because it is part of another person's record or of a public page.
19.4 What you promise us about your Content. By submitting Content you confirm that:
19.5 Where your Content appears. A Review you publish appears on the Experience's page with your given name and your profile picture. Photographs on Reviews rated four stars or more may also appear in the photo gallery of that Experience and in the photo gallery of the venue page of any Hub whose boundary contains that Experience. That means a photograph you took of one Vendor's Experience can appear on a venue's page. Your profile picture is public wherever your Review appears.
19.6 We may crop, compress, resize, and re-present your Content so that it fits the surface it is shown on. We do not change what it says.
19.7 Feedback. If you send us an idea, a suggestion, or a bug report about the Platform, we may use it without owing you anything and without obligation to you.
19.8 Vendors' and Hub Partners' Content is also governed by the Vendor Terms, which sets the listing and content standards for businesses.
20.1 Who may review, and until when. Only somebody who was on the Booking may review an Experience, and only after the Voucher for that Booking has been redeemed. A review must be posted within 30 days after the Voucher was redeemed. One scan redeems the whole Booking (section 11.3), so for a Hotel Stay the 30 days run from check in, not from check out. If you booked the same Experience more than once, the 30 days run from your most recent redemption. Where a Booking was paid with Pay Together, every member of the Party may review it, within the same 30 days.
20.2 How reviews work.
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| One review per Experience | One review per person per Experience, however many times you have booked it |
| Rating | A whole number of stars from 1 to 5 |
| Text | Optional, up to 2,000 characters, no title |
| Photographs | Up to 4 photographs per review. A photograph you attach is shown with your review and in the Listing's gallery, and may also be shown on the page of the hub where the Experience took place, unless you untick that option when you post |
| Editing | You may edit your review for 15 minutes after you post it. After that it is fixed |
| Deleting | You may delete your review at any time, whatever its status |
| Rewards | None. We never pay for, reward, or discount a review |
20.3 Honesty. A review must be your own genuine experience of that Experience. You may not write a review for an Experience you did not attend, write one on behalf of somebody else, be paid or rewarded by anybody to write one, or write about something other than the Experience.
20.4 What a review may not contain. Anything that breaks section 22. In particular: abuse, threats, or hate speech; an accusation of a crime or of dishonesty against a named person; another person's personal data, contact details, photograph without their consent, or location; contact details, links, or an invitation to deal off the Platform; advertising; and content produced by an automated system and presented as your own.
20.5 No extortion and no retaliation. You may not threaten a negative review to obtain a benefit, and a Vendor may not condition an Experience, a refund, or any other benefit on a review, on the removal of a review, or on the content of one. A Vendor may not retaliate against you for a review.
20.6 Moderation. Reviews are checked automatically before publication. Where a review appears to break these rules, it is withheld from publication while it is looked at. We may also remove a review that breaks these rules. We do not always tell you when a review is withheld or removed. If you believe a review of yours was removed by mistake, you can ask us through the in-app chat described in section 33, and a person will look at it.
20.7 Vendor responses. A Vendor may publish one response to a review, of up to 2,000 characters, and may edit or delete that response. A response is subject to the same rules as a review, and we may remove one that breaks them.
20.8 How ratings are shown. An Experience's score is the average of the reviews published for it. Reviews that have been withheld or removed are not counted. The score is shown only once at least 3 reviews have been published for the Experience. Until then we show how many reviews it has, and each review with its own rating, but no score.
20.9 Hub ratings. A Hub may be rated from 1 to 5 by a signed-in Customer who has bought a Booking for an Experience inside that Hub. Buying the Booking is enough, so a Hub rating does not require a visit and is not a verified-visit rating, and there is no review text on a Hub. A review of an Experience requires a redeemed Booking (section 20.1).
21.1 Booking chat. When a Booking is confirmed, a chat opens between you and the Vendor for that Booking. It is opened by the Platform, not by you. Use it for questions about that Booking.
21.2 The chat becomes read only when the Booking ends, which means when it is redeemed, cancelled, refunded, missed, or expired, and the Vendor may also close it earlier. You can still read everything in it after it closes.
21.3 What the chat is not for. You may not use it to take the transaction off the Platform, to share or ask for telephone numbers, email addresses, social handles, or links, to arrange payment outside Hobber, to advertise, to harass anybody, or to send anything that breaks section 22.
21.4 Messages are scanned automatically. Telephone numbers, email addresses, links, and profanity in a message are masked with asterisks before the message is delivered and stored, including in the notification that appears on the other person's device. We keep the original, unmasked text in a moderation record so that a person can review it if there is a complaint or a dispute. This applies to messages sent by Customers and by Vendor Users alike.
21.5 Attachments are limited to images and PDF files of up to 5 MB each. Attachments are not scanned for content, so sending contact details inside an image is still a breach of section 21.3 and we will act on it.
21.6 Reporting. You can report a single message or a whole conversation, from the app, choosing one of these reasons: spam, offensive language or hate speech, harassment or bullying, inappropriate content, scam or fraudulent content, impersonation or false identity, misinformation or false claims, violence or threats, or other. A report is recorded with the message and reviewed by a person. It is not an automatic takedown, and we will not always tell you the outcome of a report about somebody else.
21.7 Blocking. You can block another Customer from the social features of the app, which stops them finding you and sending you requests. There is no customer to customer messaging on the Platform, and there is no way to block a Vendor, because the only chat with a Vendor is the one attached to your own Booking and it closes when the Booking ends. If a Vendor's conduct in a chat is a problem, report it and tell us through the in-app chat, and we can step into the conversation, close it, or act against the Vendor.
21.8 Hobber may join a conversation. A member of our staff can post into a booking chat. Where that happens the message is shown as coming from the Hobber Admin Team.
21.9 How long messages are kept, and what happens to them when you close your account, are in the Privacy Policy, section How long we keep it.
22.1 You may not use the Platform to do any of the following.
Dishonesty and money
Content and other people
The Platform itself
Payments in cryptocurrency
22.2 You must not encourage or help anybody else to do any of these things.
23.1 If you see Content on the Platform that breaks these Terms or the law, report it. Use the report control on the message or conversation, or tell us through the in-app chat described in section 33, and tell us where the Content is and what is wrong with it.
23.2 If you are the owner of a right you believe has been infringed, or you are complaining about Content about you, tell us who you are, what the Content is, where it is, what right it infringes or what is wrong with it, and how to reach you.
23.3 We aim to look at a report within 72 hours. Where the Content is unlawful, we remove it or block access to it. Where we receive an order from a competent authority of United Arab Emirates to remove Content or to block access to it, we comply within the period the order specifies, and promptly in any event.
23.4 We may remove or withhold Content, and we may suspend access to a feature or an account, while we look into a report. That is not a finding against anybody.
23.5 Where we act against your Content, section 24 tells you what we tell you and how to ask us to look again.
23.6 We may report unlawful content and the conduct behind it to the authorities, and we cooperate with lawful requests from them.
24.1 Where you break these Terms, we may take one or more of these steps, choosing the one that fits what happened:
24.2 We take the more serious steps where the breach is serious, where it is repeated after a warning, where it puts somebody at risk, or where the law or an order requires it.
24.3 We tell you what we did and why. When we take a step under section 24.1, we tell you what we did, which rule it engaged, and what it means for your account, unless telling you would break the law or an order from an authority, or would prejudice an investigation into fraud or into a risk to somebody's safety.
24.4 You can ask us to look again. Reply through the in-app chat described in section 33. A person who was not involved in the original decision will read what you write and answer you. We will reverse a decision that turns out to be wrong.
24.5 Enforcement does not by itself change the money position on a Booking you have already made. What happens to the money is in the Refund Policy.
24.6 Where we close your account, Bookings already confirmed are either honoured or refunded under the Refund Policy. Nothing in this section allows us to keep money for an Experience that was not provided.
25.1 The Platform, its software, its design, its text, its databases, and the Hobber name, logo, and brand are owned by Hobber or licensed to it. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of that to you.
25.2 We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose, on the terms of this document. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create a derivative of the Platform, and you may not use our name, logo, or brand without our written permission.
25.3 Content submitted by Vendors and by Hub Partners remains theirs, licensed to us under the Vendor Terms. Content you submit remains yours, licensed to us under section 19.
25.4 We do not permit anybody to copy the Platform's content, including Listings and Reviews, for use in another service or to train a machine learning model.
26.1 Hobber AI is our assistant and itinerary planning feature. It is software, not a person, and it is powered in part by artificial intelligence models operated by third parties.
26.2 You accept the AI Consent separately before you use Hobber AI. It is not part of these Terms and accepting these Terms is never treated as consent to it. It explains what is sent to the model providers, where they are, what we keep, and for how long.
26.3 Hobber AI never books anything. It does not book, pay for, reserve, hold, change, or cancel anything. It suggests. Every Booking is made by you, in the ordinary checkout, and you confirm and pay for each one yourself. Where you book several items from one plan, each is a separate Order with its own payment, so you may see several separate charges rather than one.
26.4 Hobber AI recommends only Experiences listed on the Platform.
26.5 Hobber AI can be wrong. What it tells you about prices, availability, timings, opening hours, inclusions, or cancellation rules is a suggestion and not a commitment. The price and availability that count are the ones on the checkout screen, and the terms that count are the Listing, these Terms, and the Refund Policy. Nothing Hobber AI says varies any of them.
26.6 Hobber AI does not give medical, legal, financial, or safety advice, and you must not rely on it for any of those. If you have a medical question, ask a doctor.
26.7 Hobber AI is available only in Markets where we have published the AI Consent, and it requires a verified telephone number. We apply usage limits to it and we may pause it, limit it, or withdraw it.
26.8 You may not use Hobber AI to generate Content that you then publish as your own on the Platform, including Reviews.
27.1 What we collect, why, who we share it with, where it goes, how long we keep it, and what rights you have are set out in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Cookies and similar technologies on our web surfaces are covered by the Cookie Policy.
27.2 Where you make a Booking, we give the Vendor what it needs to deliver the Experience. That is your given name and family initial, the number of people, the booking reference, and the answers to the Vendor's own Booking Requirements. Vendors are not given your full name, your email address, your telephone number, or your photograph. See the Privacy Policy, section Who we share it with.
27.3 A Vendor that receives your information must use it only to deliver your Experience and to meet its own legal duties, and may not market to you without your separate consent. That obligation is in the Vendor Terms.
27.4 Hub Partners receive no personal information about Customers.
28.1 What cannot be limited. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits:
Everything else in this section is subject to that paragraph. Where a limit in this section would conflict with it, the limit does not apply.
28.2 What we are responsible for. We are responsible for performing our own obligations to you: running the Platform, taking and protecting your payment, issuing your invoice, supporting you, and deciding and paying refunds under the Refund Policy. We are responsible to you for the Experience being delivered as described, and your remedies for that are in the Refund Policy.
28.3 What we are not responsible for. Subject to section 28.1 and section 28.2, we are not responsible for:
28.4 Limit. Subject to section 28.1, our total liability to you in connection with a Booking is limited to the greater of the Booking Value of the affected Order and AED 500. Our total liability to you in connection with your use of the Platform where no Booking is involved is limited to AED 500.
28.5 Amounts we pay you as a refund under the Refund Policy count towards that limit.
28.6 The Vendor keeps its own responsibility to you for the Experience it delivers, and nothing in these Terms limits any claim you have against a Vendor.
29.1 This section applies only to Vendors, to Vendor Users, and to Hub Partners. Customers give no indemnity of any kind under these Terms.
29.2 A Vendor or a Hub Partner will indemnify Hobber against claims, losses, fines, and reasonable costs arising from its delivery of an Experience or operation of a venue, from its Content, from its failure to hold a licence, permit, or insurance it was required to hold, and from its breach of these Terms or of the Vendor Terms. The Vendor Terms set out the detail and prevail on this subject.
30.1 A Force Majeure Event is an event beyond a party's reasonable control, including a severe weather warning, a natural disaster, an epidemic, a government order, a strike, or a failure of public utilities or networks, that prevents an Experience from being delivered or attended.
30.2 Neither you nor we are in breach of these Terms because of a delay or a failure caused by a Force Majeure Event, for as long as it lasts.
30.3 A Force Majeure Event never takes away your right to your money where the Experience is not provided. If the Experience does not happen, you are entitled to a full refund or, if you prefer, to a new date or an alternative. The rules, including how we treat weather at the destination as against weather where you are travelling from, are in the Refund Policy, section Weather and Force Majeure Events.
31.1 We may change these Terms. We do it by publishing a new version with a new version number and a new effective date.
31.2 Changes apply going forward only. A new version never changes a Booking you have already made. Each Booking is governed by the versions of these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy that we froze against it when you paid.
31.3 Notice. For a change that materially affects you, the new version takes effect no earlier than 15 days after we notify you by email and in the app, and we ask you to accept it the next time you sign in. A correction that does not change your rights, such as fixing a typographical error, an out of date contact detail, or a broken cross-reference, takes effect when it is published.
31.4 If you do not want to accept a new version, you may stop using the Platform and close your account. Bookings you have already made are unaffected and continue under section 31.2.
31.5 We do not give ourselves the right to reinterpret these Terms. We have no right to decide unilaterally what a clause means, to decide by ourselves whether an Experience conformed to its Listing, or to change the terms of a Booking you have already made. Where we and you disagree about what a clause means, it is settled under section 33 and, if necessary, by the courts.
31.6 This is version 1.6. Version 1.1 added section 8.10 and the Maximum Order and Orders in any 24 hours rows of the Market Schedule, which describe two limits the Platform applies at checkout. Version 1.2 corrects section 9.2, which did not mention the processing fee kept when a Walk-in Voucher expires unused that the Refund Policy sets out; it is a correction that does not change your rights. Version 1.3 adds the accessible price to section 16.9 and three rows of the Market Schedule, which name it for United Arab Emirates, the identification that shows eligibility for it, and whether Hobber may keep a copy. Version 1.4 lets the Vendor of a Tour open scanning up to 24 hours before the departure time, in section 12.7; where it does, the Redemption Window starts at that earlier time, fixed when you book and shown on your Voucher. Version 1.5 sets a review window of 30 days after redemption in section 20.1, shows an Experience's score only from its third published review in section 20.8, adds both to the Market Schedule, and corrects section 20.9: only a Customer who bought a Booking for an Experience inside a Hub may rate that Hub. Version 1.6 corrects section 13.8, which said a Vendor cannot cancel your Booking on the Platform: a Vendor that cannot go ahead may cancel it before it starts, and you are refunded in full. Nothing else changed from version 1.0, the first version published for United Arab Emirates.
32.1 You may end this agreement at any time by closing your account, as described in section 6.6.
32.2 We may end it by closing your account under section 24, or by giving you reasonable notice where we stop offering the Platform in your Market or stop offering it altogether.
32.3 Ending this agreement does not affect a Booking that is already confirmed. A confirmed Booking is either honoured or refunded under the Refund Policy.
32.4 These sections survive the end of this agreement: 1, 2, 4.3, 9.7, 17, 19.3, 19.4, 22, 24.5, 25, 27, 28, 29, 33, 34, and the section "Words with a special meaning in these Terms", together with any other section that by its nature is meant to survive.
33.1 Talk to us first, through the in-app chat. The way to reach Hobber about anything, including a complaint, is the support chat in the Hobber app, 24 hours a day, staffed by people. Open it from Help, or from the Booking the complaint is about, and send us a message. Nothing is recorded until you send that first message.
33.2 Your reference. Each conversation is a tracked request and it appears in your list of support requests in the app. Where the complaint is about a Booking, the Booking's confirmation code is attached to the conversation and is the reference to quote. Closed requests drop off that list after 7 days, and we can give you the full history of any request if you ask us for it.
33.3 Our response target. We aim to answer a new request as quickly as we can. Response times vary with the time of day and with how many requests we are handling, and they are a target, not a guarantee. We treat a request about an Experience that is about to start, or that has just happened, as urgent and answer it first.
33.4 Support is provided in English today. Where a Market offers another language we will say so in the app.
33.5 A conversation closes after a period of silence once we have replied, and we warn you before it does. You can always start a new one.
33.6 Asking for a second look. If you are not satisfied with an answer, say so in the conversation and ask for it to be escalated. A more senior person will review it. Where the answer is a refund decision you disagree with, section 14 and the Refund Policy apply.
33.7 Going outside Hobber. You do not have to come to us first, and coming to us does not stop you going elsewhere. In United Arab Emirates you can take a consumer complaint to the authorities directly: the Ministry of Economy consumer line 800 1222 and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. You also keep any right you have to go to court.
33.8 Governing law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the Platform are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
33.9 Courts. the courts of Abu Dhabi have jurisdiction. This does not take away any right you have under the law of United Arab Emirates to bring a claim in another court where the law gives you that right.
33.10 No arbitration. These Terms contain no arbitration clause and we will not ask a Customer to arbitrate a dispute about a Booking.
33.11 Nothing in this section restricts a right or a complaint channel that Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection and Cabinet Decision No. 66 of 2023 gives you and that cannot be given up.
34.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the documents listed in section 3.2 and the Market Schedule, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Platform. They replace anything said before. This does not exclude liability for a fraudulent statement.
34.2 Severability. If a court or an authority decides that part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest continues to apply, and the part that cannot be enforced is treated as replaced by the closest enforceable meaning.
34.3 No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not lose it.
34.4 Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to anybody else. We may transfer ours to another company in our group, or to a buyer of our business, provided your rights are not reduced. We will tell you if that happens.
34.5 Notices. We give you notice through the Platform, by in-app message or notification, or by email or SMS to the address or number on your account. Keep them up to date. You give us notice through the in-app chat, or in writing to Madinet Zayed Office Tower, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
34.6 Language. These Terms are published in Arabic and in English. The English version governs, subject to section 3.4.
34.7 Headings are there to help you find things and do not affect the meaning.
34.8 Relationship. Nothing in these Terms makes you and us partners, or makes either of us the employee or agent of the other, except for the agency described in section 2.2, which is between Hobber and the Vendor.
